Visiting Nurse Services in Westchester Donated 50 Surface Pro-3 Tablets to the Boys & Girls Club of New Rochelle
Visiting Nurse Services in Westchester (VNSW) donated (50) Surface Pro-3 Tablets to the Boys & Girls Club of New Rochelle (BGCNR) on Thursday, July 15, at their headquarters in White Plains, New York. The donation of tablets from VNSW will replace some of the older and outdated computers at the Boys & Girls Club of New Rochelle, allowing their club members to receive further enrichment programming.
"As our technology continues to evolve at Visiting Nurse Services in Westchester, we are thrilled to find a new home for these tablets at the Boys & Girls Club of New Rochelle," said Timothy P. Leddy, President and CEO of VNSW. "We hope that through this donation, we can help the Boys & Girls Club of New Rochelle continue their mission of providing life-enhancing programs and experiences for our youth."
VNSW field staff once used the (50) Surface Pro-3 Tablets to update their Electronic Medical Records System. Each tablet has had the data wiped clean by the Information Technology Department at VNSW and are ready to use, complete with Windows and internet browsers.
"We are thankful to receive this donation from VNS Westchester, which will go towards our programming," said Nate Adams, Interim Executive Director Boys and Girls Club of New Rochelle. "The addition of these tablets has provided us with a complete computer lab, allowing us to enhance the experience of our young club members further and provide growth opportunities."
The (50) Surface Pro-3 Tablets will allow the Boys & Girls Club of New Rochelle to continue bringing forth life-changing programs; this upgraded technology will directly impact their programming right away. For example, the Boys & Girls Club of New Rochelle purchased new graphic design software, which they could not use on their older computers until now with the (50) Surface Pro-3 Tablets. This addition will allow teens to display their creativity, create better access for high schoolers working on college essays, assist with after-school safety programs in the fall, in addition to the Workforce Development Programs that provide job opportunities for high school students.
