Service to Our Community
We treat you like neighbors because we are neighbors
To fulfill our mission to promote and support the health and sustain the independence of residents in the communities we serve, VNS Westchester “gives back” in countless ways. We offer a wide range of free community programs, including events to educate youth, adults and seniors about healthy living and chronic disease prevention. Our goal is to keep you – our neighbors – in optimal health in the comfort of your homes.
As part of our commitment to our community’s health, we:
- Offer our landmark “Ask the Visiting Nurse” program of monthly health screenings and counseling for at-risk seniors at senior centers and other community sites
- Provide influenza vaccinations at schools, community centers, local companies and houses of worship
- Train nursing and medical students from local colleges on techniques for treating patients at home
- Host professional development seminars for our regional health partners
