Visiting Nurse Services in Westchester (VNSW) has launched a new clinical program to help reduce instances of sepsis among the close to 10,000 patients it serves each year. Beginning in August, VNSW began screening its homecare patients for signs and symptoms of sepsis using a new interactive Sepsis Screening, Education and Early Intervention tool.
VNSW was delighted that Westchester County Executive, George Latimer, and County Commissioner of Senior Programs and Services, Mae Carpenter, recently accompanied RN Diana Valdes on a home visit to one of our patients. The visit took place during the recent heat wave, and the visit highlighted the need to check on the elderly and those with chronic health conditions during periods of excessive heat.
Visiting Nurse Services in Westchester (VNSW) announced the opening in mid-May of its new branch office, located in Hopewell Junction in Dutchess County. The agency's Board made the decision this year to relocate its branch office from Putnam to Dutchess County due to the tremendous growth of patient admissions in Dutchess.
