Evidence-based studies show that strategically-timed follow-up calls to patients following hospital discharge are leading to reduced instances of preventable hospital readmissions, improved patient health and better management of chronic illnesses. To help achieve these goals for our home care patients, VNS Westchester (VNSW) is partnering with the NYC-based health technology company, CipherHealth, to pilot a new patient outreach call program, “VNSW Care Call.” The 90-day pilot program was launched in September for VNSW’s patients.
With over 600 employees and independent contractors, the Westchester Visiting Nurse Services Group, Inc. (WVNS Group), is a major healthcare employer in Westchester and adjoining counties. Recognizing the growing need for job development opportunities in healthcare, as well as in other industries in the region, WVNS Group is collaborating with a variety of organizations to help meet workforce needs for local job seekers and employers alike.

Timothy P. Leddy, President & CEO of the Westchester Visiting Nurse Services Group, Inc. (WVNS), parent organization of VNS Westchester and Westchester Care at Home, was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Home Care Association of New York State (HCA) at their May 4th meeting in Saratoga Springs.

More than 200 of VNSW's healthcare partners, business colleagues, friends, staff and Board attended our May 19, 2016 Spring Benefit Gala. Proceeds will help our agency continue to provide essential home healthcare services for over 10,000 people in Westchester, the Bronx, Dutchess, Putnam and Rockland counties.

As an extension of our Smoking Cessation Program for patients, VNSW is co-sponsoring a series of 4 classes in March with the Scarsdale Medical Group designed to help community residents stop smoking. Conducted by our Tobacco Cessation Specialist, Sara Somerville, the class teaches participants skills and techniques to help them quit the habit for good, leading to improved health.
The Westchester Visiting Nurse Services Group, Inc. Board announced that Timothy P. Leddy was unanimously chosen to erve as the next President and CEO of the Westchester Visiting Nurse Services Group. In this role, he will assume leadership of the Group's affiliated agencies, VNS Westchester and Westchester Care at Home, effective immediately.
VNS Westchester today announced that it has named a Top Agency of the 2015 HomeCare Elite™, a recognition of the top-performing home healthcare agencies in the United States.
